Shaping Our Electricity Future
The EirGrid and SONI Shaping Our Electricity Future roadmaps have put us on a pathway to achieving our 2030 targets, and in doing so, a trajectory to a climate neutral economy by 2050.
Low Carbon Pledge
EirGrid was a founding signatory of the Low Carbon Pledge, the first dedicated commitment by Irish businesses to set industry standards on sustainability and reduce carbon usage.
The pledge asks companies to commit to setting science based targets by 2024.
Climate Action Pledge
The Climate Action Pledge challenges all organisations based in Northern Ireland to commit to addressing the climate crisis.
It is "a public commitment by an organisation to reduce its absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by either 30% or 50% by 2030; and to work towards measuring and reporting scope 3 GHG emissions".
SONI is a Climate Champion for the Business Action on Climate Campaign and sits on the steering group responsible for developing the Climate Action Pledge.
