Load Profile Requests
The documents on this page are specific to conventional generators. Conventional generators must submit a Load Profile Request Form before:
- Making any changes to generator characteristics
- Upgrading software
- Carrying out testing not already agreed with EirGrid
Requirements for Generators (RfG)
The European Network's Requirements for Generators (RfG) sets standards for connecting to the grid. Under this, EirGrid Code has been updated to version 8.
This means that generators need to be defined as RfG or Non-RfG. Refer to the latest Grid Code for a definition of Non-RfG Generation Unit.
An RfG is any generation unit that is not a non-RfG generation unit.
Compliance Testing for RfG and Non-RfG
The Progress Summary lists all tests that conventional generators must complete to achieve an Operational Certificate.
These tests are divided into:
- Phase A - up to energisation
- Phase B - up to synchronisation
- Phase C - up to operational certificate
